O R D E R

The present criminal original petition has been filed to direct the first respondent to register the petitioner's complaint dated 22.01.2016.

2. The petitioner herein lodged a complaint as against her husband and in-laws on the allegation of dowry harassment. Though the said complaint has been lodged on 22.01.2016, no action has been taken on the said complaint so far. Hence, the present Criminal Original Petition has been filed.

3. When the matter is taken up for consideration, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that the complaint was sent by the petitioner only by post. If a fresh complaint is given by the petitioner in person, necessary action will be taken.

4. Considering the submissions made on either side, this court directs the petitioner to give a fresh complaint along with a copy of this order to the first respondent within a period of one week from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. On receipt of such complaint, the first respondent is directed to conduct enquiry and upon enquiry, if materials are gathered indicating commission of any cognizable offence, he is directed to proceed further in accordance with law, as early as possible.

5. This criminal original petition is disposed of accordingly.
