Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus to direct the second respondent to grant pension to the petitioner in accordance with G.O.Ms.No.22, Cooperation, Food and Consumer Protection (C.N.1) Department dated 22.02.2021 by considering the proposal submitted by the fourth respondent in proceeding Na.Ka.No.546/2021. Tho.Vay.Sa dated 04.12.2023 within a stipulated period of time and to pay the consequential pension arrears thereof.

Mr.S.Ravi Kumar, learned Special Government Pleader (Co-op.) takes notice on behalf of the respondents. By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself. 2/5
2.The petitioner has filed this writ petition seeking issuance of Writ of Mandamus to direct the second respondent to grant pension to the petitioner in accordance with G.O.Ms.No.22, Co-operation, Food and Consumer Protection (C.N.1) Department dated 22.02.2021 by considering the proposal submitted by the fourth respondent in proceeding Na.Ka.No.546/2021. Tho.Vay.Sa dated 04.12.2023 within a stipulated period of time and to pay the consequential pension arrears thereof.
3.The learned Special Government Pleader (Co-op.) appearing for the respondents would submit that the petitioner is entitled for pension and that they have already sent proposal to the Administrator, Tamil Nadu State Apex Co-operative Bank, Chennai and since the amount is to be sanctioned by the Apex body, as and when received, the same will be paid to the petitioner. The learned Special Government Pleader (Co-op.) would further submit that the sixth respondent need three months time to pay the pension amount. 4.In view of the same, this Court directs the sixth respondent to settle the pension to the petitioner within a period of three months 3/5
from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
