Respondents Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying to issue a writ of Mandamus to direct the respondents to provide police protection to the petitioner to conduct Annual Temple Festival on 21.07.2017 of Arulmigu Veda Vinayagar Koil, Arulmigu Ayyanar Koil, Arulmigu Seruvadi Amman Koil and Arulmigu Mariamman Koil which are located in one campus at Saathukoodal Kizhpaathi and Melpaathi Village, Virudhachalam Taluk, Cuddalore without any disturbance by considering the petitioner's representation dated 12.06.2017. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner as well as the learned Special Public Prosecutor appearing on behalf of the respondents.

Though the petitioner has sought for a larger relief to direct the respondents to provide police protection to conduct Annual Temple Festival of Arulmigu Veda Vinayagar Koil, Arulmigu Ayyanar Koil, Arulmigu Seruvadi Amman Koil and Arulmigu Mariamman Koil which are located in one campus on 21.07.2017 at Saathukoodal Kizhpaathi and Melpaathi Village, Virudhachalam Taluk, Cuddalore District, the learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that he would be satisfied if the fifth respondent is directed to consider the request of the petitioner for police protection.

3. In view of the submission made by the learned counsel for the petitioner, the petitioner is directed to approach the fifth respondent for similar relief and on such request being made, the fifth respondent is directed to consider the petitioner's request on its own merits taking into the prevailing situation of the Village.

4. With the above directions, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
