By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal. 2.

The petitioner would state that his father, namely E.Nagabushnam worked as Record Clerk in the office of the Executive Engineer [Operation and Maintenance], NKB Nagar, Vyasarpadi, Chennai39 and he died in harness on 21.10.2010. The petitioner's father, while he was alive, had 3 wives and the first wife, viz., Chinnamma, has filed a suit in OS.No.2574/2012 on the file of the Court of XV City Civil Court, Chennai and a decree came to be passed on the Joint Memo of Compromise and as per the terms, the first wife namely Chinnamma is to get the Death and terminal benefits and the 3rd wife Lakshmi, is to get the pensionary benefit and the petitioner, being https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

the son of the 2nd wife, is entitled to get appointment on compassionate ground. The petitioner was directed to produce relevant records vide proceedings of the Superintending Engineer, dated 09.07.2014. Accordingly, the petitioner submitted all the relevant documents. The grievance expressed by the petitioner is that thereafter, no response is forthcoming as to his request for appointment on compassionate ground and hence, he came forward to file this writ petition.

Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and Mrs.R.Varalakshmi, learned counsel who accepts notice on behalf of the respondent.

This Court, taking into consideration, the limited scope of the prayer sought for by the petitioner and without going into the merits of the same, directs the respondent to consider and dispose of the petitioner's representation dated 11.02.2015 on merits and in accordance with law and pass orders within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the decision taken, to the petitioner.
