ORDER

The above petition has been filed to call for the records in Crime No.7/2019 on the file of the 1st respondent police and to quash the same.

Mr.Vijayakumar, learned Senior counsel for Mr.T.Dhasarathan, learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the entire case has been fabricated, so as to implicate the Petitioner in the offence and that even as per the complainant, the demand was said to have been made by a Broker and that based on the statement of the said Broker, he has been falsely implicated in this case.

The learned Additional Public Prosecutor would submit that the investigation is still pending and that there are prima facie materials available against the Petitioner and that this Court cannot quash the case at the stage of investigation, where it involves process of collecting other corroborating materials.

At this juncture, the learned counsel for the petitioner, without prejudice to his contentions, would seek permission to withdraw this Criminal Original Petition and he would submit that the case has been registered as early as on 28.3.2019 and that the Petitioner being a young Officer in the Government, his career prospects are affected due to the pendency of this case and he would seek for a direction to the Respondent Police to complete the investigation and file a final report, at the earliest and has also made an endorsement in the Petition for withdrawal of the Petition.

In view of the submissions and the endorsement made by Mr.T.Dhasarathan, learned counsel for the petitioner on record, recording the same, this criminal original petition stands dismissed as withdrawn.

Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petition is closed.

However, the 1st respondent police is directed to complete the investigation in Crime No.7/2019 and file a Final Report as expeditiously as possible and not later than six months from today.
