O R D E R
The petitioners have come forward with this Writ Petition seeking for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondents to mutate the revenue records in respect of the land comprised in S.No.318/2B having an extent of 20 cents, Panniyur Village, Arakkonam Taluk in the name of the petitioners on the basis of the petitioners' representation dated 05.11.2013.
2. Heard Mr.G.Jeremiah, learned counsel for the petitioners and Mr.V.Shanmuga Sundar, learned Special Government Pleader for the respondents.
3. According to the petitioners, their land in S.No.318/2B in Panniyur Village, Arakkonam Taluk, ad-measuring to an extent of 6 cents out of 20 cents had been acquired by the respondents by issuing G.O.(3D).No.839, Adi-Dravidar and Tribal Welfare Department, dated 27.10.1994 and Section 6 Declaration on 14.12.1994. The acquisition proceedings were set aside by this Court by an order dated 27.04.2010 in W.P.No.8377 of 2010. Subsequently, the respondents failed to mutate the revenue records in the name of the petitioners, hence, they sent representation dated 05.11.2013. Since, no orders have been passed, the present writ petition has been filed.
4. The learned counsel for the petitioners submitted that in respect of the lands covered under the said notification, based on the recommendation by the first respondent, the Government issued G.O.No.96 (Adi-Dravidar and Tribal Welfare Department) dated 21.09.2012, withdrawing the acquisition proceedings except the lands of the petitioners and few others.
5. The learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents submitted that, originally, the 3rd respondent was having the jurisdiction and after bifurcation of the Taluk, the jurisdiction now falls under the Tahsildar, Nemili and he further submitted that necessary orders would be passed at the earliest.
6. In the light of the above undisputed facts, by recording the submission of the learned Special Government Pleader, the first respondent is directed to pass appropriate orders on the petitioners' representation dated 05.11.2013, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order.
7. Accordingly, the writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
