ORDER
By consent, the writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal.
2.The petitioner would state that the land belonged to his mother, admeasuring an extent of 1 acre and 14 cents in Chinna Valavanur Village, Tindivanam Taluk, Villupuram District was acquired by the Special Tahsildar, Adi Dravidar Welfare in the year 1981-1982 and the compensation was paid and once again, the land admeasuring an extent of 40 cents was acquired during the year 1997-1998 by the very same official. The petitioner would further state that at the time of acquiring the lands, an assurance/undertaking was also given to the family members of the persons whose lands were acquired will be given priority in the employment in Government services.
The petitioner would contend that since the sole source of livelihood in the form of lands were acquired, family of the petitioner is put to grave hardship and difficulty and in the light of G.O.Ms.No.188 Personnel and Administrative Reforms (Personnel-P) Department dated 28.12.1976, such persons are entitled to claim priority in the matter of employment in public services and in this regard, he has also submitted a representation dated 26.02.2015 as well as 05.03.2015. Since no orders have been passed, the petitioner came forward to file this writ petition.
3.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the daughter of the petitioner has received a communication from the District Employment Office, Villupuram, to apply afresh to the jurisdictional Tahsildar for getting priority certificate. The petitioner has also applied for the same and hence prays for appropriate orders.
4.The Court heard the submissions of Mr.V.Subbiah, learned Special Government Pleader, who accepts notice on behalf of the respondents.
6.Though the petitioner prayed for a larger relief, this Court, in the light of the above facts and circumstances and without going into the merits of the same, directs the respondents 3 and 4 to consider the representations of the petitioners dated 26.02.2015 and 05.03.2015 on merits and in accordance with law and pass orders within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the decision taken, to the petitioner.
