ORDER
(1)This application is filed the learned Administrator General and Official Trustee of Tamil Nadu [AG&OT] seeking permission to donate Rs.10,00,000/- to Sri Ramacharan Charitable Trust, No.115, Sir P.S.Sivaswami Salai, Mylapore, Chennai, from the accumulated funds of the
Trust Estate of Pettukola Rajamannar Chetty which corresponds to the Financial Year 2020-21.
(2)The learned AG&OT has filed a Report dated 21.04.2025. As per the Report, one Tmt.K.Bharathi, President of Sri Ramacharan Charitable Trust, has given a request for financial assistance of Rs.20 lakhs for running their project for rendering Montessori classes to poor and underprivileged students studying in Government Schools run by Greater Chennai Corporation. (3)It is also brought to the notice of this Court that the same Trust has been receiving monthly financial assistance of Rs.30,000/- for the past few years and the said amount was directed to be disbursed after being convinced with the noble objects of the Trust doing human service to the poor and underprivileged students studying in Government Schools at Chennai run by Greater Chennai Corporation.
(4)This Court has given financial assistance to the same Trust on different occasions. A sum of Rs.10,46,000/- had been given earlier. Later, a sum of Rs.20,000/- per month was directed pursuant to the order dated 19.12.2021. However, the said sum of Rs.20,000/- per month was enhanced subsequently,
vide order dated 28.04.2023. In A.No.1437/2022, this Court has disbursed a sum of Rs.20,00,000/- to the same Trust. Again on 03.11.2023, in A.No.5800/2023, a further sum of Rs.5,00,000/- was given to the same Trust in appreciation of their service to the poor students. (5)The recipient Trust is a Non Governmental Organization with non profit motive rendering services to the children of Chennai City. It is stated that for the last two decades, the Trust is running Montessori classes for the children enrolled in Anganwadies and KG sections of the Government Schools run by the Greater Chennai Corporation. The Trust claim that they have trained more than 12,000 children so far.
(6)Having regard to the facts and circumstances of the case and the report of learned AG&OT, and considering the recurring expenses already incurred by the Trust estate on account of Sri Ramacharan Charitable Trust, this Court finds it appropriate to permit learned AG&OT to donate a sum of Rs.10,00,000/- to the said Trust.
(7)Accordingly, the application is ordered and the learned Administrator General and Official Trustee of Tamil Nadu [AG&OT] is permitted to donate
a sum of Rs.10,00,000/- [Rupees Ten Lakhs only] to Sri Ramacharan Charitable Trust, No.115, Sir P.S.Sivaswami Salai, Mylapore, Chennai, from the accumulated funds of the Trust Estate of Pettukola Rajamannar Chetty which corresponds to the Financial Year 2020-21. 22-04-2025 AP Index:Yes/No Speaking/Non-speaking order Internet:Yes To
