ORDER

This petition has been filed seeking direction to the 2nd respondent police not to harass the petitioner without due process of law.

2. It is the case of the petitioner that the petitioner was the employee of M/s.Shameer Group of Companies as an accountant. According to the petitioner, the petitioner has also invested a sum of Rs.17 lakhs in the said company along with her relatives. Further, the said company has closed their business and that the depositors have failed the complaint against the promoters of the said company. It is submitted that the respondents police are harassing the petitioner by calling upon the petitioner to appear before the police station for recording statement during odd hours.

3. The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) submitted that the petitioner is a former accountant of the said company and she may have information. Therefore, she may may be directed to co-operate with the respondent police in Cr.No.726 of 2023.

4. Considering the above, I direct the respondents to complete the enquiry on any given date before the sunset in presence of a lady police officer and in no circumstances be asked to remain beyond sunset.

5. The enquiry in Crime No.726 of 2023 is expected to be completed as expeditiously as possible.
