ORDER

(1) Mr.Yogesh Kannadasan, learned Government Advocate accepts notice on behalf of the sole respondent.

(2) The writ petition has been filed in the nature of a mandamus seeking a direction, particularly against the 1st respondent to consider the representation dated 09.07.2021, which representation was given seeking a direction to conduct survey by metes and bounds with respect to the property at S.No.24/2 at Sorakkapatti Village, Yercaud Taluk, Salem District, which measures to an extent of 2 acres. (3) It is claimed by the petitioners herein that they had purchased the said property by a Sale Deed registered as Doc.No.74/2020 on 31.01.2020. The revenue records also stand in their name. However, to avail various subsidies, they have to get patta. To obtain patta, land has to be surveyed. For that purpose, they had filed an application and necessary charges had also been paid. In spite of the fact that the representation had also been given, the 1st respondent had not taken any steps.

(4) A direction is therefore, issued to the 1st respondent to take steps to survey the land of the petitioners and prior to that, enquire the petitioner if circumstances warrant and proceed with surveying the land of the petitioners and at any rate, the entire exercise to be completed within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
