Petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issue of a Writ of Mandamus forbearing the respondents from in any manner interfering with the affairs of the petitioner's club Sulur Friends Recreation Club registered as Sl.No. 243/2013 situated at No.3/232-D, Kuttai Thottam, Muthugoundan Pudhur, Sulur Taluk, Coimbatore District or its members including the facilities provided for playing various games including the game of playing rummy not involving any element of gambling.

O R D E R

Despite the fact that the matter has been adjourned on the last three occasions, no instructions have been received by the learned Additional Government Pleader from the respondents. 2.

The petitioner, being a Recreation Club, has filed this writ petition seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus forbearing the respondents from interfering with the affairs of the petitioner's club or its members including the facilities provided for playing various games including the game of playing rummy not involving any element of gambling.

So long as the petitioner carries on lawful/legal activities, there shall not be any interference by the respondents. However, in the event of the petitioner indulging in such illegal or unlawful activities, it is well open to the respondents to take action in accordance with law. It is made clear that in such an event, this order will not stand in the way of the respondents from taking action against the petitioner Club.

The writ petition is disposed of with the above observations. No costs.
