ORDER
Heard the learned Counsel on either side.
2. The petitioner is a holder of Indian passport. The validity period is expired. He want re-issuance. The petitioner is facing criminal cases. Some of them are pending at the F.I.R stage. Two cases have culminated in C.C.No.1191 of 2024 and C.C.No.4680 of 2021 on the file of Additional C.C.B Court, Egmore.
3. The petitioner is permitted to move the Trial Court for the relief now sought. As and when such petition is filed, it shall be allowed. However, the validity period shall be restricted to three years. It is also open to the learned Trial Judge to stipulate appropriate conditions. Based on the order to be passed by the learned Trial Judge, the first respondent will re-issue the passport to the petitioner.
4. This Writ Petition is disposed of with the aforesaid directions. There shall be no order as to costs.
