ORDER : The Court Made the following order :- The petitioner, who apprehends arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the offences punishable under Sections 7(1) and 7(3) of Lotteries Regulation Act, 1998, r/w Section 294 (b), 506(2), 420 IPC in Crime No.57 of 2022, seeks anticipatory bail.
2. The case of the prosecution is that the petitioner was found in illegal possession of Kerala Lottery Tickets, which was prohibited by Tamil Nadu State Government. Hence, the complaint.
3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner denied the allegation and he is ready and willing to abide by any stringent conditions that may be imposed on him. He further submitted that this is the second anticipatory bail, the first petition for anticipatory bail was dismissed by this Court. 4. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that the petitioner was having illegal possession of Kerala lottery tickets, He also submitted that there are twenty seven previous cases, similar in nature, pending against the petitioner. Hence, he vehemently opposed to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.
5. Considering the nature of offence committed by the petitioner, and taking note of the fact that there are twenty seven previous cases, similar in nature, pending against the petitioner. Therefore, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.
