PETITION under Article 226 of The Constitution of India praying for issuance of Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondents to consider the representation dated 11.08.2014 regarding granting compassionate appointment. For Petitioner :

By consent, the Writ Petition itself is taken up for final disposal.

2. The petitioner would state that his father was serving as clerk in the services of the third respondent Society and he died in harness on 25.3.2012 leaving behind the petitioner, his two brothers, mother and grand father. The petitioner,

thereafter, applied to the first respondent on 02.11.2012 for appointment on compassionate ground in any one of the suitable post. The said official, in turn, has forwarded the said letter to the Special Officer of the third respondent Society to examine and send a report. Since no response was forthcoming, the petitioner has sent a representation dated 11.08.2014 to the respondents. Since no orders have been passed, the petitioner came forward to file this Writ Petition.

3. Heard the submissions of the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.D.Venkadachalam, learned Government Advocate, who accepts notice on behalf of the respondents.

4. This Court, taking into consideration the limited scope of the prayer sought for by the petitioner and without going into the merits of the same, directs the third respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 11.08.2014 and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the decision taken, to the petitioner.
