PRAYER: Writ Petition has been filed under Article 226 of Constitution of India praying to issue a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to pay interest amounts to the petitioner for the belatedly paid Service Gratuity, Provident Fund, Leave Salary and Commutation of Pension along with the arrears payable on account of 15th wage settlement at the rate of 6 percentage per annum for 10 months of delayed payment in the light of the judgment passed by this Court on 23.10.2024 WP.No. 30766 of 2024 by considering the representation dated 28.03.2026.

WP No. 17225 of 2026 PRAYER: Writ Petition has been filed under Article 226 of Constitution of India praying to issue a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to pay interest amounts to the petitioner for the belatedly paid Service Gratuity, Provident Fund, Leave Salary and Commutation of Pension along with the arrears payable on account of 15th wage settlement at the rate of 6 percentage per annum for 14 months of delayed payment in the light of the judgment passed by this Court on 23.10.2024 WP.No. 30766 of 2024 by considering the representation dated 07.04.2026.

payable on account of 15th wage settlement at the rate of 6 percentage per annum for the said months of delayed payment in the light of the judgment passed by this Court on 23.10.2024 WP.No. 30766 of 2024 by considering the representations of the petitioners on various dates."

2. It is the case of the petitioners that they were appointed as Junior Tradesman and Driver in the Respondent Corporation and retired from service on attaining the age of superannuation. After their retirement, the respondents settled their terminal benefits belatedly after several months, based on last salary paid to them. Therefore, the respondents are legally entitled to pay the interest to the same. While so, the 15th wage settlement was implemented and wage revision was given effect. Therefore, the respondents has to revise the pension, difference in leave salary and gratuity and settle the same.

The petitioners had made a representation to the respondents to pay them the interest for the belated period along with the arrears payable on account of implementation of 15th wage settlement with 6% interest. However, the same had not been considered to date by the respondents. Hence, the petitioners are before this Court.

4. Heard the learned Counsel on either side and perused the records.

5. Considering the limited request of the petitioners and taking note of the

fact that the petitioners' representation dated 28.03.2026 and 07.04.2026 respectively has not been considered to date by the Respondents, a mandamus, is therefore, directing the respondents to pay 6% interest amount to the Petitioner for belatedly paid Service Gratuity, Provident Fund, Leave Salary and Commutation of Pension for the delayed period to the petitioners and to pay eligible amount if any, under the 15th wage settlement along with interest at the rate of 6% per annum for the delayed period within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. Accordingly, these Writ Petitions are disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
