This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to modify the bail condition imposed by the learned Principal Special Judge, Special Court under EC & NDPS Act cases, Chennai, in Crl.M.P.No.14299 of 2024 dated 20.12.2024, that one among the sureties should be a blood surety.

The petitioner is an accused in Crime No.269 of 2024 on the file of the respondent police for the offences punishable under Section 8(c) r/w 20(b)(ii)(B) of NDPS Act. In pursuant to the registration of FIR, the petitioner was arrested and remanded to judicial custody. Thereafter, the petitioner filed a bail petition before the learned Principal Special Judge, Special Court under EC & NDPS Act cases, Chennai and the same was allowed on condition that the petitioner shall execute a bond of Rs.10,000/- with two sureties for a like sum each and one among the sureties should be a blood surety.

Heard the learned counsel appearing on either side and perused the materials placed before this Court.

Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, the condition imposed by the learned Principal Special Judge, Special Court under EC & NDPS Act cases, Chennai, in Crl.M.P.No.14299 of 2024 dated 20.12.2024, that one among the sureties should be a blood surety, shall stand modified that the petitioner shall execute a bond of Rs.10,000/- (Rupees ten thousand only) with two normal sureties for a like sum each to the satisfaction of the learned XVI Metropolitan Magistrate, George Town. The other conditions shall remain intact. 5.
