Petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issue of a Writ of Mandamus to direct the 3rd respondent to appoint the petitioner in the post commensurate with her educational qualification on compassionate grounds as recommended by the Chief Educational Officer, Thiruvallur/fourth respondent herein in Na.Ka.No. 14866/A1/2019 dated 28.01.2020 within the time frame to be stipulated by this Court. This writ petition has been filed seeking a mandamus for a direction to the 3rd respondent, the Joint Director of School Education (Personnel), Chennai, to appoint the petitioner in a post commensurate with her 2\5
educational qualification on compassionate grounds. It is stated that the Chief Educational Officer, Thiruvallur District/4th respondent herein had recommended appointing the petitioner on compassionate grounds. This was by proceedings dated 28.01.2020. A direction is given that if steps are taken to fill up vacant posts, the petitioner should also be considered on compassionate grounds, if she is otherwise eligible and if she satisfies necessary qualifications, then she should be posted in accordance with her educational qualification, if there is a post vacant and in accordance with the Rules and Regulations. If there is a post vacant, within a reasonable period of time, the petitioner may be accommodated in the said post on compassionate grounds.
