ORDER

These Criminal Original Petitions have been filed seeking to quash the F.I.R. in Crime Nos. 1, 43, 3 and 5 of 2020 pending on the file of 1st respondent police.

2. Heard both sides.

3. The petitioner is ranked as accused in the F.I.R. in (1) Crime Page No.3 of 6

No.1 of 2020 registered for an offence under Sec.294(b), 354A, 506(1), 509 of I.P.C. and Sec.4 of T.N.Prohibition of Harassment of Women Act, 2002 (2) Crime No.43 of 2020 registered for an offence under Sec.406, 420, 506(2) of I.P.C. and Sec.65 of Information Technology Act, 2000,

(3) Crime No.3 of 2020 registered for an offence under Sec.506(1) 4 of I.P.C. and Sec.67 of Information Technology Act, 2000 and (4) Crime No.5 of 2020 registered for an offence under Sec.506(1) of I.P.C., Sec.4 of T.N.Prohibition of Harassment of Women Act, 2002 and Sec.67 of Information Technology (Amendment) Act, 2008 based on the complaint given by the 2nd respondent/defacto complainant respectively.

4. Records perused. On perusal of F.I.R., it reveals that there was some personal communication in the social media between the petitioner and 2nd respondent/defacto complainant. Furthermore, the petitioner has also made allegation against the 2nd respondent/defacto complainant that she is having links with many persons. The learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) appearing for 1st respondent submitted that the investigation is at the F.I.R. stage. Therefore, on seeing the facts as well as on seeing the Page No.4 of 6

conduct of both the petitioner and 2nd respondent/defacto complainant, it needs detailed investigation. Hence, this Court is not inclined to quash the F.I.R. initiated against the petitioner. Accordingly, these Criminal Original Petitions are dismissed. Consequently, connected Criminal Miscellaneous Petitions are closed.
