While the petitioner was working as Junior Engineer, he was promoted to the post of Assistant Executive Engineer and transferred to Building Maintenance Sub Division-IV, Medical Works, D.M.S.Campus, Chennai-600 006.
The petitioner submitted a representation requesting to retain him at Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital, Chennai - 3 where the petitioner was working originally. The said request was considered by the respondent, pursuant to the order dated 14.5.2014 in WP.No.13710 of 2014. The request was thereafter rejected on the ground that the petitioner has not completed one year of service at the present location. 2. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner completed one year as on 03.3.2015 and as such, there would be no difficulty for the respondent to consider his case for transfer.
3. The request made by the petitioner to retain him at Building Maintenance Sub Division-I, Medical works, in Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital campus, Chennai - 3 was rejected on the ground that he has not completed one year at the transferred place. Now that the petitioner has already completed one year of service at the transferred place, necessarily, his request should be considered by the respondent. While considering the said request, the fact that the petitioner would retire on 31.5.2015 also should be taken note of by the respondent. Such exercise shall be completed within a period of three weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
4. The writ petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
