Respondents Prayer: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to consider the representation dated 10.08.2020 given by the petitioner and consequently direct the respondent 1 to 7 to repair and reconstruct the 2nd Sluice which serves water to Vadakkanandal Canal nearby ensuring that necessary steps are taken to supply water to the 1st Sluice of Gomukhi reservoir which serves water to Kadathur, Thengiyanatham Canal.

ORDER

(Order of the court was made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) Heard Mr.R.Prathap Kumar, learned counsel for the petitioner; and Mr.A.Edwin Prabakar, learned State Government Pleader for the respondents.

2. The sixth respondent has filed a status report. It is stated

that the reconstruction of the second sluice which serves water to Vadakkanandhal Anicut has been fully completed under Kudimaramath Scheme. After completing the work, it is ensured that there is proper flow of water to the first sluice of Gomukhi Reservoir, which serves water to 15 tanks of full storage capacity through Kadathur and Thengiyanatha Canals.

3. In view of the status report filed by the sixth respondent, the purpose of the writ petition stands fructified. The writ petition, as such, is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
