O R D E R

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to direct the respondent/Police The Inspector of Police, F-3, Nungambakkam Police Station, Chennai not to harass the petitioners by sending police officials to their house.

2. It is the contention of the petitioners that the respondent Police is unnecessarily coming to their house and harassing them under the guise of enquiry.

3. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent police would submit that no case is pending against the petitioners. Further submitted that the first petitioner is the son of the second petitioner. The first petitioner's brother in law is a rowdy element against whom there are some cases pending and that the police have been searching for him. The police in order to find out whether the petitioners have given shelter to the accused, had gone to the petitioners' house.

4. In such view of the matter, when the persons who are suspected to have given shelter or aiding the accused to conceal from the Police from the lawful execution of any warrant, they cannot seek any direction in an inappropriate manner.
