By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal and is disposed of by this order.

Mr.L.P.Shanmugasundaram, learned Standing Counsel accepts
notice on behalf of the first respondent and Mr.Hari Radhakrishnan, learned counsel, accepts notice on behalf of the respondents 2 and 3.

The petitioner has filed the present writ petition seeking for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 2 and 3 to settle the gratuity, due to the petitioner for the services rendered by him for more than 6 years from December 1, 2011 to March 29, 2019, forthwith together with interest within a time frame. 4.
Heard the arguments advanced on either side.

The case of the petitioner is that the petitioner was working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Information Technology of Jeppiar Engineering College. On 08.02.2019, based on the instructions of the Department Head, the petitioner has submitted his resignation and on 29.09.2019, he was relieved from the service and on 01.04.2019, he submitted a letter to the third respondent requesting for payment of gratuity. However, the Gratuity amount has not yet been settled inspite of several representations made to the third respondent. Since the same has not yet been considered, the petitioner has come up before this court by filing this Writ Petition. 6.
The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that without going into the merit of the case, it would suffice, if this Court issues direction to the respondents 2 and 3 to consider the petitioner's representation dated 01.04.2019 and to pass appropriate orders within a stipulated time frame.

Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, I am inclined to issue direction to the respondents 2 and 3 to consider petitioner's representation dated 01.04.2019, on merits and in accordance with law and pass appropriate orders, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

The Writ Petition stands disposed of accordingly. No costs.
