JUDGMENT

(The judgment of the Court was delivered by J.Nisha Banu,J.) The writ appeal has been filed by the State, Labour and Employment Department and the Commissioner of Labour, against the order passed in W.P.No.7203 of 2020 dated 18.11.2020, by which, the learned Judge has directed the appellants herein to consider the name of the 2nd respondent herein for promotion to the post of Assistant Commissioner of Labour for the panel year 2017-18 and in case, the petitioner satisfied all the norms for the promotion, he may be granted promotion with all admissible benefits.

2. Today, when the matter is taken up for hearing, the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the appellants has produced a Page 2/5

Government Order in G.O.(D).No.281 dated 30.05.2023 showing that the Government had accepted the recommendations of the Departmental Promotion Committee and approved for inclusion of the 2nd respondent along with 9 other persons in the panel for the post of Assistant Commissioner of Labour for the year 2022-2023 and he also produced a proceedings which was also issued to the 2nd respondent herein, vide letter No.E2/17728/2024 dated 08.07.2024, by the Principal Secretary/Commissioner of Labour, stating that the 2nd respondent was included in the panel for promotion to the post of Assistant Commissioner of Labour for the year 2022-2023 and promoted as Assistant Commissioner of Labour as per G.O.(D).No.281, Labour Welfare and Skill Development Department, dated 30.05.2023. Therefore, he would state that nothing further survives for adjudication and no further order is necessary in the appeal.

3. Recording the above submission of the learned Special Government Pleader and in view of the above G.O.(D).No.281 dated 30.05.2023 passed by the Labour Welfare and Skill Development (E1) Department and the proceedings in letter No.E2/17728/2024 dated Page 3/5

08.07.2024 issued by the Principal Secretary/Commissioner of Labour, we are of the opinion that nothing survives for adjudication in the present appeal. Therefore, this Writ Appeal stands closed.
