ORDER

By consent of learned counsel on both sides, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

The present writ petition is filed praying for a writ of mandamus to direct the respondents to issue patta in petitioner's name for the land measuring 0.01.00 ares in survey No.224/1 of Pudhupalayam village, Polur taluk, Tiruvannamalai District, for the petitioner's residence in No.99, Road Street, Pudhupalayam village, Polur Taluk,Tiruvannamalai District, by considering the petitioner's representation dated 24.03.2025.

It is submitted by the learned counsel for petitioner that the petitioner submitted representations to the respondents on 02.01.2024 and 24.03.2025 to issue patta for petitioner's land comprised in Survey No.224/1, however, respondents have not considered the same till now. Aggrieved by the same, the petitioner has come before this Court.

4. Mr.A.Selvendran, learned Special Government Pleader for respondents would submit that the prayer though states issuance of patta, infact what is sought is issuance of free house site patta which comes with a string of 2/4

conditions attached. He would further submit that the respondents would consider the representation of the petitioner and issue patta if the requirements/ conditions are satisfied and that the same would be completed within the time stipulated by this Court, which was agreed to by the learned counsel for petitioner.

In view thereof, the writ petition stands disposed of with a direction to the respondents to consider the representation made by the petitioner on its own merits and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law, after affording reasonable opportunity of hearing to the petitioner and any other interested persons/stake holders, including rival claimants, if any, within a period of eight

(8) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any views with regard to the merits of the representation and it is open to the concerned respondent to consider the representation on its own merits and in accordance with law.
