This Writ Petition has been filed to direct the respondent to publish the marks and merit/rank list of the applicants who appeared in the selection process pursuant to recruitment notification in Notification No. 001 / RC / UD.FR / PR10 and 20 / 2020-2 dated 30.09.2020 within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

2. The grievance of the writ petitioner is that the rank list has not been published by the respondent in respect of the examination conducted by the University.

3. The learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondent submitted that the rank list has already been published. It is his further contention that even if the petitioner is qualified as per the mark list, he cannot seek appointment, as the appointment is based on antecedents and character and the petitioner is facing disciplinary proceedings.

4. In such view of the matter, the petitioner cannot be appointed as 2/4

a matter of right and it is up to the University.

5. Recording the submissions of the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondent, this Writ Petition is dismissed as infructuous. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
