ORDER

The Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondent police, particularly the third respondent, not to harass the petitioner

and his family members under the guise of enquiry in relation to a civil dispute, consequently direct the first and second respondents to ensure that no coercive or unlawful action is taken against the petitioner.

2. On a perusal of the records, it is seen that the petitioner is the brotherin-law of one Thirupuram. The said Thirupuram's husband passed away in the year 2025. Thereafter, Thirupuram intended to settle the property in favour of her daughter. However, the property belonging to her husband has been sold by the petitioner. Hence, she lodged a complaint. Upon enquiry, the same was closed. Subsequently, the said Thirupuram filed a petition under Section 156(3) Cr.P.C. against the petitioner, which is pending before the concerned Judicial Magistrate and the Police are yet to file their response.

3. In view of the above, this court is of the view that there is no harassment against the petitioner. The petitioner is directed to cooperate with the enquiry. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of. 22-04-2026 Index: Yes/No Speaking/Non-speaking order PVS
