(Order of the Court was made by J.SATHYA NARAYANA PRASAD, J.) This writ petition has been filed seeking a writ of mandamus forbearing the respondents from interfering with the running of the petitioner's bunk shop near Corporation Park, near Cochin House Police Quarters, Anderson Road, Thousand Lights, Chennai 600 006, wherein, vegetables, fruits and other food items are sold, till the Township Vending Committee decides on the petitioner's application dated 02.05.2024 for granting certificate of vending, as per the provisions of the Street Vendors (Protection of Livelihood Regulation) Act, 2014.
2. Heard learned counsel on either side.
3. Learned Standing Counsel appearing for the Greater Chennai Corporation submitted that the petitioner's application dated 02.05.2024 will be considered by the Vending Committee under the relevant Act. Learned Standing 2/4
Counsel further submitted that the Vending Committee has been re-constituted and the application of the petitioner will be considered in due course. 4.
In view of the submission made by the learned Standing Counsel, the petitioner's request for certificate of vending shall be considered by the Vending Committee within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. Till final orders are passed, status quo as on today shall be maintained by the respondents.

This writ petition stands disposed of accordingly. No costs. Connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
