..Respondent(s) Prayer: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of Idnia praying for issuance of writ of mandamus directing the second respondent herein to consider and pass orders on the representations of the petitioner dated 28/02/2026 to regularize the services of the petitioner as Drivers with effect from 13/12/1995 as per the Resolution No. 2984/95 dated 13/12/1995 of the Greater Chennai Corporation, and the ratification order issued in G.O.Ms.No. 67 Municipal Administration and Water Supplies (Ma.Na.3) Department dated 24/04/1998 and in the light of the judgment in WP.No. 6227/2022 and 25450/2021 dated 19/03/2025 together with all consequential service and monetary benefits.

Mr.Abishek Murthy Order This Writ petition has been filed to direct the second respondent herein to consider and pass orders on the representations of the petitioner dated 28/02/2026 to regularize the services of the petitioner as Drivers with effect from 13/12/1995 as per the Resolution dated 13/12/1995 and the ratification order dated 24/04/1998.
2. Case of the petitioner is that the petitioner was originally appointed as Drivers through the District Employment Exchange in the year 1993. From the year 1998, the petitioner has been seeking regularisation of his service with effect from 13.12.1995. However the said relief has not been granted till date and in that regard, the petitioner has also submitted several representations including the last one dated 28.02.2026 to regularize their services from the date of their initial appointment. Since the representations were not considered, the petitioner is before this Court.
3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that it would suffice, if the respondents are directed to dispose of the representation of
the petitioner dated 26.02.2026 on merits and in accordance with law, within a specified period.
4. The learned counsel appearing for the respondents has no objection for such an order being passed by this Court.
5. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and learned counsel appearing for the respondents.
6. In view of the limited request made by the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, this Court, without going into the merits of the case, directs the 2nd respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 26.02.2026 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
7. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
