ORDER

This writ petition has been filed challenging the impugned refusal check slip issued by the 2 nd respondent dated 18.02.2025 and for a consequential direction to the 2 nd respondent to register the partition deed dated 18.02.2025 and release the document.

Heard Mr.R.Ragavendran, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.P.Harish, learned Government Advocate for respondents 1 and 2. 3.

The refusal check slip has been issued on the ground that the petitioner did not produce the original title document. In the affidavit filed in support of the writ petition, the petitioner has stated that the original title documents were misplaced and it is not traceable and he is in possession of the certified copy of the title documents. In such an event, the petitioner shall include a recital in the document to the effect that the original title documents are lost and it is not traceable.

This Court also takes into consideration the latest circular issued by the Inspector General of Registration dated 28.04.2025 wherein it has been made clear that the original title document cannot be insisted. 5.

In the light of the above discussion, the impugned refusal check slip dated 18.02.2025 issued by the 2 nd respondent is hereby quashed and there shall be a direction to the 2 nd respondent to register the partition deed if it is otherwise in order and release the same.
