ORDER

The petitioner claims that his father Sellamuthu had originally purchased lands in the year 1975. The said lands are in S.No.47/6. After purchase, his father had dealt with about 10 cents of land. But still 14 cents of the lands remain. The lands are at Samynaickenpatti Village, Omalur Taluk, Salem District. After expiry of the father, the petitioner herein had given a representation seeking mutation of the revenue records in his favour. Necessary documents including the legal heirship certificate had also been given. However, it is complained by the learned counsel for the petitioner that the respondents, particularly the 1st respondent, Tahsildar, Omalur Taluk, had not taken any effective steps to change the records.

It is only appropriate that the 1st respondent, Tahsildar, issues notice to the petitioner herein, examines the petitioner, examine the records held by the petitioner, examine the revenue records relevant to the lands in S.No.47/6 in Saminaickenpatti Village, Omalur Taluk and thereafter, take a considered decision on the representation which had been given as early as 13.05.2019.

The petitioner may give a fresh the representation along with the requisite documents to the 1st respondent, Tahsildar, with a period of three weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and thereafter, an obligation is placed on the 1st respondent to do the needful within a period of nine weeks from the date of receipt of the fresh representation.

4. With the said observations, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
