By consent, the Writ Petition itself is taken up for final disposal.

2. The petitioner would state that he joined the respondent- hospital as Cleaner on 09.03.1968 and completed his probation on 10.03.1969. After serving the respondent-hospital for more than 11 years, he tendered his resignation with effect from 20.03.1979. The petitioner claims that he had put in more than 10 years of service as Cleaner prior to the date of his resignation and he was forced to resign the job as he was suffering from depression on account of his father's ill-health.

The grievance now expressed by the petitioner is that he has worked upto 20.3.1979, but his resignation was accepted with retrospective effect from 01.03.1976 and in the light of the fact that he has put in 10 years of service, he is entitled to get pensionary and other benefits. In this regard, he has submitted a representation dated 25.8.2015 to the respondent and though it was received and acknowledged, no orders have been https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

passed and hence, the petitioner came forward to file this Writ Petition.

4. Heard the submissions of the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.V.Subbiah, learned Special Government Pleader, who accepts notice on behalf of the respondent.

5. This Court, taking into consideration the limited scope of the prayer sought for by the petitioner and without going into the merits of the same, directs the respondent to consider and dispose of the representation of the petitioner dated 25.08.2015 on merits and in accordance with law within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the decision taken, to the petitioner.
