Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issue of Writ of Mandamus to direct 1st respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 10.10.2017 seeking 30 feet road connecting Thenmelpakkam and 4th Avenue Mahindra City Road for the length of 60 feet. O R D E R
(Order of the Court was made by M.Sundar, J.) This writ petition has been filed as a public interest litigation.
2.The prayer in the writ petition is very short and simple. 3.The first writ petitioner has sent a representation dated 10.10.2017 to respondent nos.1 and 3 before us, i.e., The District Collector, Kancheepuram District and the jurisdictional Thasildar, being Thasildar, Chengleput Taluk. 4.The request in the representation, inter alia, is that an existing 15 feet road at the site mentioned therein is not enough and that it has to be widened as two-way 30 feet road. We express no opinion on the merits of the matter, in the light of the simple and innocuous prayer.
5.Ms.Vasudha Thiagarajan, learned Additional Government Pleader, accepts notice on behalf of respondent nos.1 to 3, 6 and 7.
6.Though the representation has been sent to respondents 1 and 3, considering the nature of representation, we direct respondent no.1, i.e., District Collector, Kancheepuram, to consider the representation dated 10.10.2017 (at page 26 of the typed set of papers before us) in accordance with law and dispose of the same within a period of four (4) weeks from the
date of receipt of a copy of this order.
