Prayer: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the 3rd Respondent to forthwith consider and place the petitioners' representation dated 26.03.2026 before the Administrative Committee / Full Court of the Hon'ble High Court of Madras and to make a recommendation to the 1st and 2nd respondents for enhancement of the age of superannuation of Judicial Officers of the Tamil Nadu State Judicial Service from the present 60 years to 62 years or in the alternative to 61 years in conformity with the directions of the Honble Supreme Court of India in I.A.No.170936 of 2023 in W.P.(C) No. 643 of 2015 dated 23.11.2023 in W.P.(C) No. 819 of 2018 dated 26.05.2025 and in I.A.No.295221 of 2025 in W.P.(C) No. 986 of 2025 dated 20.11.
2025 and consequently directing the 1st and 2nd respondents, upon receipt of the recommendation of the 3rd respondent, to forthwith take all consequent steps, including the issuance of necessary Government Orders and amendment of the Tamil Nadu State Judicial Service (Cadre and Recruitment) Rules and the relevant State enactments, so as to enhance the age of superannuation of Judicial Officers of the Tamil Nadu State Judicial Service from the present 60 years to 62 years, or in the alternative to 61 years, with all consequential service and monetary benefits.

ORDER
(Order of the Court was made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) Learned senior counsel for the petitioners seeks leave of this Court to withdraw this writ petition, with liberty to pursue the matter on the administrative side.
2. Petition is, accordingly, dismissed as withdrawn. However, the petitioners would be free to approach again as and when need arises. There shall be no order as to costs.
WMP No.17533 of 2026 filed by the petitioners to join and file a single writ petition stands allowed inasmuch as separate court fee has been paid by the petitioners. Consequently, WMP No.17536 of 2026 stands closed.
