Respondent PRAYER : Writ Petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent - Secretary, Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission, Chennai, to appoint the petitioner as Librarian in the Government College, which the petitioner is legally entitled to.

O R D E R

This Writ Petition has been filed to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent - Secretary, Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission, Chennai, to appoint the petitioner as Librarian in the Government College, which the petitioner is legally entitled to.

2.Today when the matter is taken up for consideration, the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondent would submit that in the notification it was mentioned as "consistently good academic record", which according to them would mean that the candidate should have secured I class [60% and above] or Good, II class [B+ or 55% and above] from Higher Secondary to Post Graduate Course" whereas the petitioner has secured 46.1% marks in HSC and hence, her application was rightly rejected by the respondent.

3.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that in the notification it was not clearly mentioned and the petitioner has got high marks in Librarian Course and hence, the petitioner would be satisfied, if her representation is directed to be considered and appropriate orders are passed as expeditiously as possible.

4.Considering the submissions on both sides, at this stage the Writ Petition is not maintainable and hence, the same is dismissed. However, liberty is given to the petitioner to submit a representation to the respondent to know her marks and on receipt of the same, the respondent is directed to furnish her marks. No costs.
