Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to appoint the petitioner in a suitable post in the 1st respondent Corporation on compassionate grounds.

By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal.

2.The petitioner's father was working as Commercial Inspector in the services of the Tamil Nadu Generation of Electricity and Distribution Corporation Limited (TANGEDCO) and he died in harness on 23.12.2006 and the petitioner is the daughter of the deceased and according to her, her father is the sole bread winner of the family and on account of his demise, the family has been left in misery. The petitioner after obtaining death certificate and legal heirship certificate has submitted an application/ representation dated 22.08.2015 to the respondents praying for appointment on compassionate grounds in any suitable post and since no orders have been passed, came forward to file this writ petition.

3.Heard the submissions of Mr.N.Suresh, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.M.Fakir Mohideen, learned Standing Counsel who accepts notice on behalf of the respondents. 4.Though the petitioner prayed for the larger relief, this Court in the light of the above facts and circumstances, directs the respondents 2 and 3 to consider and dispose of the petitioner's representation dated 22.08.2015 on merits and in accordance with law and pass orders within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the decision taken, to the petitioner.
