Heard detailed submissions of Mr.D.Nelliappan, for the petitioner and Mr.Jai Venkatesh, learned Standing Counsel, for the respondents. 2.

The petitioner seeks a mandamus directing the respondents 1/4

to pass final assessment orders by taking into account all his objections. This is a matter where provisional assessment orders have been passed in regard to electricity service connections in the house units in the following addresses:- "a. House bearing Door No.99, 1st Street, Krishna Nagar, Maduravoyal, Chennai - 95, b. House bearing Door No.111, 1st Street, Krishna Nagar, Maduravoyal, Chennai - 95, c. House bearing Door No.59, 18th Street, Krishna Nagar, Maduravoyal, Chennai - 95, and d. House bearing Door No.135, 15th Street, Krishna Nagar, Maduravoyal, Chennai - 95."

Though no counter has been filed, learned panel counsel would submit that by a surprise inspection conducted on 13.05.2024, the authorities had deducted theft of energy. 4.

In light of the limited prayer sought for by the petitioner, respondents are directed to hear the petitioner, consider the objections dated 20.05.2024 and any further objections made by the petitioner and pass final orders of assessment within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. Petitioner is also at liberty to request the authorities to restore the connection, which request may be considered if and when made, putting the petitioner to applicable terms and in accordance with law.
