Respondents Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the Respondents to consider and pass orders on the Petitioner's representation dt. 20.04.2024 as per the provisions at the Street Vendors (Protection of livelihood Regulation) Act 2014, made for granting permission/certificate of vending and till such time not to disturb with the running of the Petitioner's bunk shop at Running 1/4
Bunk Shop at near I.C.H.First Gate, Tamil Salai, Egmore, Chennai- 600 008 wherein selling tea, coffee and food items by using LPG Gas Stove. For Petitioner :

(Order of this Court was made by J.SATHYA NARAYANA PRASAD,J) The present writ petition has been filed seeking for a direction to the Respondents to consider and pass orders on the petitioners representation dated 20.04.2024 as per provisions at the Street Vendors (Protection of livelihoood Regulation) Act 2014 made for granting permission/certificate of vending and till such time not to disturb with the running of the Petitioner's bunk shop at Running Bunk Shop at near I.C.H.First Gate, Tamil Salai, Egmore, Chennai- 600 008 wherein selling tea, coffee and food items by using LPG Gas Stove.
2. Heard learned counsel on either side.

3. Learned Standing Counsel appearing for the Greater Chennai Corporation submitted that petitioner's application dated 20.04.2024 will be considered by the Vending Committee under the relevant Act. Learned counsel further submitted that the Vending Committee has been re-constituted and the application of the petitioner will be considered in due course.

In view of the submission made by the learned Standing Counsel, the petitioner's request for certificate of vending shall be considered by the Vending Committee within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. Till final orders are passed, status quo as on today shall be maintained by the respondents.

The Writ petition stands disposed of accordingly. No costs. .
