ORDER

(1) Mr.Yogesh Kannadasan, learned Government Advocate accepts notice on behalf of the respondents.

(2) The writ petition has been filed in the nature of a mandamus seeking a direction to the 3rd respondent/Tahsildar, Maduranathakam Taluk, Chengalpattu District to consider the representation dated 09.07.2021 by which the petitioner herein Shyamala had sought joint patta to be given in her name and in the name of her sister Sharmila with respect to the lands in Survey No.14/8C in Pounthangaranai Village, Oonambakkam Post, Maduranthakam Taluk at Chengalpattu District, measuring to an extent of 21 cents which are said to be Nanjai lands/wet agricultural lands.

(3) The case of the petitioner is that her father had owned the said lands and he had subsequently executed a Settlement Deed registered as Doc.No.1031/2016 dated 06.06.2020 in the office of the Sub Registrar, Maduranthakam, settling the said lands in favour of the petitioner and her sister Sharmila. Now the petitioner and her sister seek patta in their names.

For this purpose, they had given a representation on 09.07.2021.

(4) The 3rd respondent may issue notice not only to the petitioner and her sister Sharmila, but also to her another sister Shakila and yet another sister Monisha and also to the other named person in the representation, viz., Rajkumar, who is said to be the cousin brother of the petitioner herein, examine the representation, hear them and thereafter, pass a considered order within a period of sixteen weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

(5) The writ petition stands disposed of accordingly. No costs.
