The writ petition has been filed seeking a direction to the 1st respondent to give police protection to conduct an auspicious function in continuation of Kumbabishekam which is to be held on 30.05.2024 and 31.05.2024. The petitioner herein filed a similar Writ Petition seeking police protection in W.P.No.13118 of 2024 and the same was allowed on 08.05.2024, directing the 1st respondent to give necessary police protection to the petitioner. 2.Subsequently, a Writ Petition was filed by one S.Palanisamy and others in W.P.No.13899 and 13901 of 2024. The petitioner was arrayed as 3rd respondent in W.P.No.13901 of 2024.
In the said Writ Petition, a direction was given to the District Revenue Officer, Sankari Taluk, Salem District to convene a Peace Committee Meeting involving the petitioner and other contesting parties, with regard to the conduct of festival on 30.05.2024 and 31.05.2024. 3.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor, appearing for the 1st respondent on instruction submitted that as per the direction issued by this Court, a Peace Committee Meeting was conducted on 29.05.2024, wherein the petitioner and the other contesting parties also participated.
Peace Committee Meeting to conduct a temple festival on 30.05.2024 and 31.05.2024 by inviting persons belonging to all three factions. 4.In view of the earlier direction issued by this Court in W.P.No.13118 of 2024, the petitioner is not entitled to seek a similar direction again. It is also brought to the notice of this Court that the petitioner appeared before the Revenue Divisional Officer in the Peace Committee Meeting conducted on 29.05.2024 and a decision was taken in the Peace Committee Meeting. Therefore, no further directions are required in this writ petition. 5.The writ petition stands disposed of accordingly. No costs. 30.05.2024 kas Index : yes / no S.SOUNTHAR, J.
