Prayer: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking a Writ of Mandamus directing the second respondent to issue patta to the petitioner for his house in door No.63/43, Thoppu Street @ Pakkiri Muhamathu Street situated in town T.S.No.732 at Pichanur Village, Gudiyatham Taluk, Vellore District. ORDER

Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader accepting notice for the respondents.

2. The petitioner seeks for patta to the property, over which, he is not the owner.

3. The petitioner states that several other persons, who are similarly situated like the petitioner, had been given the benefit of patta in the year 2003. According to the petitioner, the persons belonging to Sengundha Mudaliar community had been benefited with the said order by the Government. Staking equivalence with those persons, he gave a representation on 25.1.2023 for the grant of patta.

4. Without going into the merits of the case, the respondents are directed to dispose of the claim made by the petitioner through the aforesaid representation within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. The writ petition is disposed of accordingly. There shall be no order as to costs.
