The case was registered in Cr.No.5 of 2019 on 04.06.2019, based on the complaint given by one Raja against this petitioner namely Chithra, Assistant, Sub Registrar Office, Thirupathirupuliyur, Cuddalore, alleging likelihood of receiving illegal gratification for registering the Marriage and the step of the Registrar Office led to recovery of unaccounted currencies and documents. Following the registration of complaint, the investigation been completed and final report filed on 24.11.2021. The matter at present stands for framing of charge. The present Criminal Original Petition is filed seeking direction from this Court to direct the learned Chief Judicial Magistrate-CumSpecial Judge under Prevention of Corruption Act, Cuddalore to expedite the trial and complete it within given time framed.

2. The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) states that due to pendency of discharge petition filed by this petitioner and others, the case stands posted to 25.08.2023.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner across the bar states that he will instruct the accused persons to withdraw their discharge petition and he will be ready for trial.

4. Recording the same, Criminal Original Petition is disposed of with direction to the trial Court to frame the charge on 25.08.2023 and proceed with the trial preferably on the day to day basis, in any event, the Chief Judicial Magistrate-Cum-Special Judge under Prevention of Corruption Act, Cuddalore shall complete the trial in Spl.CC.No.1 of 2022 within a period of three months commencing from the date of framing charges. 25.07.2023 Index: Yes/No Speaking / Non Speaking Order Vv To
