Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking issuance of writ of mandamus, directing the 3rd Respondent to conduct fair enquiry by considering the Representation dated 25.03.2026 relating to cancellation of Patta No.165 infavour of 5th Respondent along with other revenue records i.e. Chitta, Adangal in respect of the land measuring extent of Acre 1.13 Cents comprised in S.No.146/1 and an extent of Acre 0.12 cents in S.No.144/1A and house site measuring 16 cents (16,440 square links) of Karikalavakkam Village, previously Chengalpet District Now Thiruvallur District and consequently to issue Joint Patta as per Settlement Deed dated 19.03.1967 on the file of Thiruvallur, Sub Registrar Office. ORDER
This Writ Petition has been filed to direct the 3rd respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 25.03.2026. 2.The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that in this case, the petitioners have given a representation dated 25.03.2026 to conduct fair enquiry relating to cancellation of Patta No.165 infavour of 5th Respondent along with other revenue records i.e. Chitta, Adangal in respect of the land measuring extent of Acre 1.13 Cents comprised in S.No.146/1 and an extent of Acre 0.12 cents in S.No.144/1A and house site measuring 16 cents (16,440 square links) of Karikalavakkam Village, previously Chengalpet District Now Thiruvallur
District and consequently to issue Joint Patta as per Settlement Deed dated 19.03.1967 on the file of Thiruvallur, Sub Registrar Office. Till date, the same has not been considered at all. Hence, the writ petition.
3. In reply, the learned Government Counsel appearing for the respondents would submit that the petitioners' representation dated 25.03.2026 will be disposed of by the respondents within a period of twelve weeks.
4. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioners and the learned Government Counsel for the official respondents and also perused the materials available on record.
5. In view of the above, this Court directs the 3rd respondent to consider the petitioners' representation dated 25.03.2026 on its own merits and dispose of the same in accordance with law within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order, after issuing notice to the petitioner as well as the private respondents 5 & 6.
