(Order of the Court was made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) This writ petition has been filed for a writ in the nature of mandamus directing the respondents to remove the encroachments in Survey No.393/2 of Melappondi Village of Pallipattu Taluk of Thiruvallur District, which is classified as water body.

2. From the instructions received by the learned Government Pleader (in-charge), it appears that there are some encroachers, 14 of whom have been identified.

3. We direct the respondent authorities to take steps in accordance with law to remove the encroachments in Survey No.393/2 of Melappondi Village of Pallipattu Taluk of Thiruvallur District, after putting on notice all concerned and conclude the proceedings within two months from the date of communication of this order.
