By consent, the writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal.

2.The petitioner would state that he joined the services of the first respondent on 17.3.1977, as an Assistant Grade III (Technical) and got promotion to the post of Assistant Grade II (Technical) on 31.12.1988. The grievance expressed by him, is that though the fourth respondent joined the services subsequent to the petitioner, on 9.5.1977, he also got his promotion on 16.10.1988, and has been conferred with the benefit of one more increment, which resulted in the higher pay to the junior of the petitioner, and in this regard, the petitioner was repeatedly submitting representations to the concerned respondents and since no orders have been passed, came forward to file this writ petition.

3.The learned Counsel appearing for the petitioner, would submit that the third respondent has also forwarded the representation of the petitioner to the second respondent and prayed for consideration of his request and communication of the decision and in spite of it, no orders have been passed and therefore, the petitioner is constrained to approach this Court by filing this writ petition.

4.The Court heard the submissions of Mr.P.D.Audikesavalu, learned Standing Counsel, who accepted notice on behalf of the respondents 1 to 3, also. 5.This Court taking into consideration the limited scope of prayer sought for by the petitioner, and without going into the merits of the same, directs the second respondent to consider the petitioner's representations dated 5.11.2013 and 28.6.2014, on merits and in accordance with law, after taking note of the letters of the third respondent dated 22.9.2007 and 26.4.2012, and pass orders thereon within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the decision taken, to the petitioner.
