O R D E R

The present Writ Petition is filed for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondent to cancel the punishment imposed on the petitioner in PR No.87/PR-SZ-CNI/2005, dated 05.03.2014 imposed by the Commissioner of Police, Greater Chennai Police, in the light of the representation made by the petitioner dated 19.12.2023 within a reasonable time that may be fixed by this Court.

2. Considering the limited prayer sought for in this Writ Petition and without going into the merits of the case, the respondent is directed to dispose of the Mercy Petition submitted by the petitioner, within a period of twelve (12) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 2/4

With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
