Prayer: Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of a writ of Mandamus or any other appropriate writ, order or direction in the nature of a Writ directing the Respondents to forthwith complete the process of merger and affiliation of Excel Business School and Excel College of Engineering Technology with Excel Engineering College, all situated at pallakkapalayam, Komarapalayam taluk, Namakkal District for the academic year 2021-22 by considering the representation of the Petitioner dated 28.07.2021 addressed to the UGC for issuing clarification sought for by Anna University in the line with the clarification issued by AICTE in its letter dated 28.07.2021.

The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner institution has already addressed a letter dated 27-08-2021 to University Grant Commission (UGC) withdrawing the proposal for the merger of the colleges. The said fact was confirmed by the learned standing counsel appearing on behalf of the UGC.
