CRL.MP.No.8400 of 2024 in CRL.OP.No.8760 of 2024 DR.G.JAYACHANDRAN., The petitioner herein was directed to deposit 20% of the cheque amount to avail suspension of sentence. The said condition imposed by the appellate court not complied and the same was challenged before this court. This Court though not convinced with the reason, granted time to the petitioner to deposit 20% of the amount by 30.04.2024. The petitioner had not deposited money within the time prescribed and he has filed the present petition for extension of time. Stating that the petitioner is unable to mobilise Rs.5,00,000/- within the time granted, seeks further extension of time.

2. On considering the facts of the case, this court is not convinced with the reason stated for giving further extension. Hence, this petition is dismissed. The petitioner herein is at liberty to appear before the court and surrender and thereafter get suspension of sentence soon after depositing Rs.5,00,000/-.
