PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, seeking issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to provide the Electricity Connection without demanding revenue records to the petitioners residential house situated at No.37, Mariyamman Kovil Street, Ammundi Village, Katpadi Taluk, Vellore District within stipulated period. ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed for a direction to the respondent to provide the Electricity Connection without demanding revenue records to the petitioners residential house situated at No.37, Mariyamman Kovil Street, Ammundi Village, Katpadi Taluk, Vellore District within stipulated period.

2. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner made an an application for electricity connection to his residential house and also paid necessary charges for the same. Since no electricity connection was given, the present writ petition is filed.

3. Considering the limited prayer sought for in this writ petition, this Court directs the respondent to provide electricity connection to the petitioner's residential house, if the petitioner is able to establish the possession, to which, electricity connection is sought for by way of revenue records or registered document. If the petitioner produces the relevant records, the respondent shall consider the same and take necessary steps for providing service connection within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 2/4
