Respondents Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, seeking for a writ of mandamus directing the 1st respondent to consider the claim of the petitioner regarding advancement of the panel year 2008-09 to 2007-08 for the post of Assistant Conservator of Forests, in the light of his representation dated 01.07.2015.

ORDER
By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal.
The petitioner was directly recruited as a Forest Apprentice in the year 1983 through the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission [TNPSC] and claims to have undergone prescribed training and after successful completion, was appointed as a Forest Ranger on 24.08.1985 and by virtue of his sincere and dedicated service and also on account of the seniority, the petitioner claims that he is fully qualified and eligible for the promotion to the post of Assistant Conservator of Forest ; but however, his name has not been included in the panel for promotion to the said post.
The petitioner would further state that as per the administrative instructions of the 2nd respondent dated 22.03.2007, https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
10.05.2007 and 23.08.2007, the 1st respondent has issued G.O.Ms.No.7, Environment and Forests Department dated 04.02.2008 providing for upgradation of 26 posts of Forest Rangers to Assistant Conservator of Forests, for being appointed as Forest Extension Officers at various Forest Extension Centres. The grievance expressed by the petitioner is that the said Government Order has not been taken into consideration for consideration of the panel for the year 2007-2008 which resulted in the petitioner's seniority being getting postponed by one year, affecting his further promotional avenues and in this regard, he has submitted a representation dated 01.07.2015 to the 1st respondent and and since no orders have been passed, he came forward to file this writ petition.
Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.S.Gunasekaran, learned Government Advocate who accepts notice on behalf of the respondents 1 to 3.
Though the petitioner has prayed for a larger relief, this Court, in the light of the facts and circumstances and without going into the merits of the claim projected by the petitioner either in the representation or in this writ petition, directs the 1st respondent to consider and dispose of the petitioner's representation dated 01.07.2015 on merits and in accordance with law and pass orders within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the decision taken, by the petitioner.
The writ petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs.
