O R D E R

On a complaint lodged by Dr.Sujatha Venkatraman/second respondent herein, the first respondent/Police registered a case in Cr.No.5 of 2013 for the offences under Sections 495, 498(A), 506(i) and 420 IPC against her husband Dr.S.Venkatraman/petitioner herein and another.

Now it appears that the the parties have amicably arrived at a settlement and therefore they have approached this Court to quash the FIR.

Today Dr.Sujatha Venkatraman is present in the Court and she has filed an affidavit, wherein in paragraphs 4 to 6 it is stated thus, "4.

I further submit that the 1st respondent police registered a case against the petitioner in Crime No.5/13 for alleged offence under Section 498(A), 495, 506(i) and 420 IPC on 19.3.2013 and on the same day petitioner was remanded to judicial custody.

I further submit that the petitioner preferred a quash petition against the F.I.R. and stay has been granted by this Hon'ble Court. During the pendency of the above case the petitioner and myself came in for an amicable settlement.

I further submit that we by the intervention of common friends, and well-wishers we have decided to part as friends after completion of division of assets and liabilities on assets and we had come for amicable arrangement. The terms and conditions are reduced into writing in the manner of Memo of Understanding executed on 10th August, 2015.

I therefore pray that this Hon'ble Court may be pleased to accept the compromise memo and pass appropriate orders and thereby render justice." 4.

In view of the above, this Criminal Original Petition is allowed and the case in Crime No.5 of 2013 on the file of the respondent Police, now pending on the file of the learned Judicial Magistrate, Tambaram, as against all the accused is hereby quashed. Connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
